Overview
|
The best way to describe QualMeeting is to picture a focus group room in a facility—- the QualMeeting platform simply acts like a virtual focus group room online.
A typical focus group room allows a moderator and participants to come together to interact and engage as they discuss and share during the session. Participants might be shown images, videos or concepts. Moderators might ask a series or questions or take a poll of the room to gather feedback. Just on the other side of the glass, Clients might be watching the group’s interactions. The whole session might be recorded for later use. |

With QualMeeting, that same set of features of a facility room is recreated in a unique way online. The Moderator and the Participants each broadcast their own streaming video via any connected webcam, allowing everyone in the room to see each others expressions and body language. Moderators have control over a virtual “shared screen” where they can display images, videos or concepts to the group. As new items are placed on the “shared screen”, the Participants see them appear in real time. Moderators can mark up and annotate these stimuli, or allow participants to do the same. Clients can watch the session and interact with the Moderator, but remain hidden from the Participant’s view. The entire interaction is recorded for later review.
There are two different types of QualMeeting sessions, small groups (IDI, Dyad, Triad), or larger groups (4-8). The layout of the virtual room changes depending on the number of Participants and the type of concepts or stimuli being shown. All of this is configured by the 20/20 team ahead of the session. |

Technology
QualMeeting leverages a mix of advanced web technologies to deliver a flexible online platform capable for use in a wide variety of situations. Our technical team at 20/20 evaluated every platform option possible before implementing the QualMeeting system. In QualMeeting we deliver a platform that is not only easy for both Moderator and Participant to use, but one that provided all the features and functionality that allows the greatest flexibility.QualMeeting is a completely browser-based system that utilizes Adobe Flash technology- a technology installed on over 99% of the world’s PC’s. By not requiring any third-party downloads or installations, QualMeeting can guarantee cross-browser and multiple operating system compatibility. Windows-based PC’s and Macs all experience the same interface and usability.
20/20 Research identified a key “pain point” in any real-time system—- that your participants must be 100% “technically ready” at the time of the session or computer errors prevent the study from taking place. 20/20 developed a unique approach that allows Participants to “pre-test” far in advance of their session to reduce the potential for technical glitches.
